Dear Diary:
It’s Day 6 of 21 at Regal Airport Hotel (RAH).
My relationship with cabbage and mushrooms (of any variety) have changed. These seem to be the staple during hotel quarantine. Cabbage and mushrooms with a side of some unknown meat. If you’re a vegetarian expect to eat cabbage and mushroom every day, all day (literally), with little sources of other protein except the mushrooms.

If you’re a meat eater, you’ll now have seen meat prepared to a point that it looks like fake meat pretending to be real meat. Every day is like a Kinder Surprise. You open up your box to see what new meat you have, but unlike a Kinder Surprise you never really know what you’re having. It’s like building an Ikea furniture, you’re really just guessing and praying nothing bad happens.
RAH loves their spices, they don’t skimp on an, like at all (thank you RAH). You’re treated like a King with the variety of expensive spices served (cardamom, sage, capers, etc). It’s like I’m having spices with a side of mushrooms and cabbage.

But back to the topic of mushrooms and cabbage, even the standard meals have cabbage and mushrooms. This is starting to feel like those toxic relationships where I still love them but they are no longer sparking joy in my life, but there’s no way of getting rid of them.
I want to know who their mushroom and spice dealers are cuz they’re serving it like it’s going out of style! But all in all, food isn’t that bad, it’s better than what they serve in Squid Game (t-bone steak excluded) and bright side? nobodies dying. So yay! Until next entry…
Love,
A cabbaged and mushroomed out Vicky.
PS. RAH does a nice veg Indian meals here but some aren’t for the faint of heart as it’s proper spicy. And you know what? They do not skimp out on the cardamom (3rd most expensive spice in the world), it’s in every dish!
