Day 4: Missing the Little Things

Dear Diary:

Day 4 of 21 days of mandatory hotel quarantine and missing the little things in life.

Life in quarantine has made me realised how I use to take the littlest things for granted. I never knew how everyday mundane little things that go unnoticed in our daily lives are actually really important. Like detergent, a pot, a really good chair, or fresh air to name a few.

I remember the first couple of days when trying to wash the oily items from our lunch boxes with hotel bar soap, suddenly detergent and a sponge seemed so great.

When our meals came cold or undercooked, I really wished I had a pot to reheat or recook our food.

And by the 3rd day of sitting on the bed, bent over doing work, oh god, did I dream of a good sturdy chair to sit on.

It’s the little things that makes our lives so much easier but never noticed before, like how you never feel your bum when you’re sitting down unless someone mentions it. Did you check you bum just now?

Until next post!

Love,

A Back to Basics Vicky
